1991年，Delia（Anna Maxwell Martin饰）作为一名代理护士，在伦敦过着流浪和孤独的生活。当她在当地一家酒吧遇到John Sweeney（Shaun Evans饰）时，这似乎就是她一直在寻找的关系。
